Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Accreditation (APPFA) Apply

Before you apply, determine whether your program is eligible and assess your readiness to apply. See the Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Accreditation™ (APPFA) Application Manual for full eligibility criteria.

Assess Readiness to Apply

  1. Complete the APPFA Gap Analysis. (coming soon)

  2. Review the Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Accreditation™ (APPFA) Application Manual.

  3. Contact the APPFA Team (APPFA@ana.org) to determine the appropriate review cycle for your program.

    • The APPFA program conducts 4 review cycles annually (see table below):

    Application acceptance will begin at 9 am EST on the start date and end on the last date or when the cycle is full.


    Please note:
     Depending on application volume, you may be placed into the next available cycle when we reach documentation review capacity. Notification will be provided here when a cycle is full. Contact the APPFA Office with any questions.

  4. Download and submit a completed APPFA Application Form (updated 6/27/23) during one of the four application review timeframes.  

    • Watch this information video on how to fill out the application from (updated 9/20/23).

    • Programs with more than five (5) participating or non-participating sites will need to download and utilize the application addendum form (updated 6/27/23).

    • If the baccalaureate degree (or higher) in nursing was obtained outside the United States, the Program Director and site clinical coordinator(s) (if used in the program) do not need to have the degree evaluated for comparability to US degree requirements.

    • If the Program Director and site clinical coordinator(s) (if used in the program)  are educated outside the United States and do not hold a baccalaureate (or higher) nursing degree, they must have their credentials evaluated for comparability to US degree standards through Commission on Graduate of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).

  5. After the submission of your APPFA application form the APPFA team will confirm your programs eligibility. The APPFA team will be in contact with you with 5 business day after submitting your application form.
